So what in the world is a Virtual Assistant, or a VA?
When people ask me what I do for a living, I respond, “I’m a Virtual Assistant.” Nine times out of ten, they then ask me what I do for a living (lol).
This allows me to dive further into my VA world and explain what I do as a Virtual Assistant. To put it simply, I help small businesses run their business more efficiently and effectively. I take on either unwanted tasks, time-consuming tasks or specialty tasks that require certain skills. This can range anywhere from email management to building a WordPress website and customer service to project management.
For example, let’s say your company requires a specialty task, such as a video created, but they don’t have an in-house designer. A Virtual Assistant that has a design background would be perfect for this! I can be hired as a project-based freelance contractor. You get your video, I get paid and we are both happy.
There are business owners who simply don’t have the space to have someone on hand; a Virtual Assistant who uses their own computer, electricity and pays their own overhead is a great fit for this type of business. What about business owners who live out of the country, but prefer someone in the states to assist them? I live in Southern California and have a client in France!
Additionally, and often times, companies need a person to fulfill their projects, but they don’t need someone in the office full-time, or even part-time. As a Virtual Assistant, I can work anytime you need me to. This type of agreement also avoids the company having to pay for health benefits, paid time off and 401k. It’s a win-win situation for anyone.
If you are considering hiring a Virtual Assistant, please feel free to reach out and ask me any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
